The work seen here relates to the Within Eachother, Portraits of Ourselves series made largely in 2019.
The drawings were made during the summer of 2019, informed by the refugees Kettle had encountered during her Thread Bearing Witness project. They were scanned and printed onto fabric and became the backgrounds of the Within Eachother, Portraits of Ourselves stitched portraits.
The collaborative stitched works were made with three now UK based individuals and two groups based in Pakistan.The work seen here was made with individuals from Syria, Iran, Pakistan and Uganda. A more detailed list crediting these contributions is available.
