Esho Funi is a Buddhist term which refers to the oneness of self and environment, it’s indivisibility and interconnectedness.
It struck me that we are living in the midst of a virus that causes symptoms such as difficulty in breathing, high temperatures and possible permanent damage to the lungs on a planet where our lifestyles, habitual behaviours and attitudes have caused the very same symptoms in our environment; the cutting down of rainforests, the lungs of our world, global warming from pollution caused by industries that fill the air with poisonous gases and emissions.
The world has stopped, the air is cleaning itself and the holes in the ozone layers are closing up. The planet does not need us, we need it. Maybe this could be a time to look internally and see how our inner lives and attitudes are affecting the outer world?
