Everything dances around you is one of three pieces that uses the idea of the mandala as a representation of both the microcosm and the macrocosm.
Each of these pieces includes the name of a black hole (this one is Virgo Messier 78* or VM78*) and has a central focal point that relates to this This represents the macro world of outer space, the ever expanding universe. The presence of the monkey mind motif represents the inner micro world of the mind, with all it’s chaos and confusion. At the centre of this is a still point, the eye of the storm, an ordering presence that knows exactly how to work with and bring out the beauty of the chaos.
The pieces for me are about chaos and dissolution and the role that these elements play in new creation. Mandalas have been used throughout history as a focal point to still and train the mind so that we can become aware of our innate and underlying wisdom.
