Good Figures

Weald & Downland Museum, April 25, 2015

Good Figures is a unique exhibition of the female form by contemporary women artists. It is an art exhibition selling the work of 30 of Britain’s most eminent and interesting female artists aged from 22 to 82. This ambitious exhibition is curated by art historian Candida Stevens of TINT-ART, a contemporary art forum based in West Sussex. The exhibition was launched in The Mall gallery in central London in February and then comes to the Jerwood Gridshell Space from 25th April until 4th May 2015. A local architect has been invited to design a bespoke hanging system for the remarkable building. It will be the first contemporary art exhibition of its size and significance in West Sussex.

“Good figures is an astonishing selection of artists who have all come together in this fascinating show. Such diversity and yet a clear thread tying the collection together. I love the age range and career span, only someone like Candida would have the confidence to approach such a range of artists and know it would work. I can’t wait to see the exhibition, I want it all!” A private collector.
