Pallant House Gallery, Chichester. A view of a part of a museum collection that is inspired by a group of small models of the galleries that are a part of the collection. In the painting the collection comes to life; a drawing expands to become a massive monochrome painting, a character from a Patrick Caulfield painting leaves the painting in order to become an exhibit in his own right, a sculpture bifucates and a painting of chimney pots starts to smoke. A painting that is as much about a collection as it is about the viewer’s imagination.
