As spring arrives and some of us turn our attention to planning the months ahead, perhaps of camping trips, picnics, days on the water or days in the hills, this evocatively titled painting, Tent on the Shore, fulfils all of my reminiscent nostalgic mental wanderings.
Down and Down Again references the steep streets and steps of Trieste, near where Calum now lives with his wife and two young children, a time in life when steps can be a great adventure.
Summer Reds is Kingly Vale, an ancient Yew Forest in West Sussex where Calum spent some time during his residency in 2019.
