"This piece is riffing off the colloquial saying, a leopard never changes its spot. Everything changes, it is in fact the only certainty in life. Sometimes change happens at a noticeable pace, sometimes slowly and at other times instantly. The green flowers in the piece represent the fullness of the present moment, summer and the joyful culmination of the good times, However, in the corner the autumnal bloom can be seen, signifying the ongoing cycle of change, but it too is beautiful in it’s own way. Whilst making this piece the it occurred to me that the constant acts of repetition that populate our lives with their familiarity can lend the illusion of permanence, but it is just that, an illusion."
