`'The overview on these pieces is that for me the ‘smiley’ face is a symbolic image of wholeness, unconditional acceptance and potential. For me, the face is rather like the moon in that it is reflecting the light of something greater that perhaps can’t be known directly. The colour of each face is symbolic in and of itself, but the eyes are always black and white, representing both the dark and the light side of life.`'
