In this artwork, the lace is laid over multiple pieces of fabric that have been sewn together instead of the single piece of fabric as in the Triple-layer gather-gusset series....
In this artwork, the lace is laid over multiple pieces of fabric that have been sewn together instead of the single piece of fabric as in the Triple-layer gather-gusset series. The combination of multiple fabrics creates a sense of ground and landscape. Upon completion of the artwork, Cecilia was reminded of what the Villa of Mosaic Columns might have looked like; or at least what feelings might have been evoked there.
