Hamish’s affection for elephants is apparent in his sensitively realised elephant sculptures. Hamish is always mindful of the vulnerable status of elephants and the threat to population numbers, having a long association with the conservation organisation Tusk and the Lewa Conservancy in Kenya. His bronze and silver sculptures of elephants are particularly appealing, sculpted with an comprehensive understanding of their anatomy, behaviour and character from years of observation and field study.
This bronze elephant sculpture shows a mother and her two calves in procession. When on the move, elephants walk in single file, trunk to tail. Hamish has captured the family going about their everyday business. This charming sculpture is available in limited edition and would make a thoughtful gift for wildlife lovers.
