Yale Center for British Art, Connecticut. Centre stage is Stubb’s large painting of an exotic beast, a zebra in the garden of Buckingham Palace that was a gift to the Queen of England. Hung within a modernist gallery I enjoy the improbability of bringing together cool modernism and exoticism – a post modern meeting.
