Curriculum Vitae: Manya Goldman (b. 1960)

Manya Goldman studied at Camberwell College of Arts (Foundation, 1979 - 1980), West

Surrey College of Art and Design, Farnham (BA Textiles, 1980-1983), Royal College of Art

(MA Textiles, 1983-1985).

Manya was born in Capetown, South Africa. She came to London in 1965 with her family as

refugees from the Apartheid regime. She now lives in Brighton with her husband and

children.

After graduating from the Royal College of Art, Manya shared studios with fellow artists and showed at private galleries in London while supporting herself by working as an

artist-visualiser for Zaha Hadid in her architectural practice.

She taught for many years as a Senior Lecturer on the Foundation course at Winchester

School of Art before training and practising as a psychotherapist.

Now returning to her artistic practice, she has found a way of working which is a synthesis of these experiences.
