CANDIDA STEVENS FINE ART GALLERY was established in 2012, by Art Historian (BA Hons UCL) Candida Stevens. The gallery features the work of Royal Academicians and emerging artists alike. Candida curates an ambitious program of exhibitions that feature the best of Modern and Contemporary British Art. The gallery, located in Chichester, West Sussex, has a National and forward thinking outlook and attracts artists such as Eileen Cooper RA, Cathie Pilkington RA, Stephen Chambers RA, Nicola Green, Cedric Christie, Charlotte Hodes, Liane Lang, Tom Hammick, Annie Kevans, Jane McAdam Freud, Julian Meredith, Nicole Farhi, Gina Parr, Ron King, Rebecca Fontaine-Wolf. It also exhibits the work of several established modern British artists, including Ivon Hitchens, John Wells, Bryan Wynter, Terry Frost and Roger Hilton.

CANDIDA STEVENS FINE ART was founded as a channel for emerging and established artists to monetise their work with integrity and previously operated under the name TINT-ART but was renamed with the opening of a permanent gallery.

In 2015 Candida also curated GOOD FIGURES, a major exhibition of over 30 Contemporary Women Artists, to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Dame Laura Knight’s Self-Portrait with Nude and the relative freedom and acceptance of women artists working today. GOOD FIGURES showed in The Mall Galleries in London and in the Downland Jerwood Gridshell in West Sussex.

Eileen Cooper RA, featured artist writes: “ From my first meeting with Candida, I was impressed with the drive, vision and pure passion which she brings to her curatorial style. It’s refreshing that someone with such business like efficiency, is so open to the creative possibilities that working closely with artists and collectors brings. This is carried out with energy, grace and great style. I have found her huge fun to work with and she certainly has a great future.”

Collector’s quote: “I have learned to trust and appreciate Candida’s eye--she has formidable knowledge of the contemporary art market and also a unique ability for spotting undiscovered talent. A heady combination especially when you add her charm and energy into the mix. I love buying pictures from her! “

Visitor's quote; "On Wednesday I called by your Gallery to find you ‘mid hang’, but you were kind enough to ask us in. This email is to say a formal thank you and confirm contact as well as to say how delighted we are to find a serious and intelligent gallery opened in Chichester. Something the City sorely needs to stand alongside Pallant House."

Art investor's quote; “It was a pleasure meeting you at your gallery on the last day of your recent Ivon Hitchens and Stephen Chambers exhibition. Then noticing a couple of late Hilton gouaches waiting to be displayed as part of the next exhibition as well as some interesting prints from the Eagle Gallery it felt as if parts of Cork Street rescued from the developers, Chelsea and Farringdon had been transported to Chichester.”
