Part of the same series as ‘Sirens’. This painting looks at the circularity of what we covet and search for online being fed back to us. The objects of our desire that hold our consumerist DNA are directed back to us via algorithms, making us both the producer and the product. We have become capital, human capital. Today, more than ever, people seek the benefit of being part of society through a ‘swipe’ or ‘tap’ of a screen gaining instant gratification and acceptance. The summation of the individual is reconfigured into data ‘likes’, consumer interests and tastes of attitude: ‘You liked that, you’ll love this!’.
