The dawn of a new day series takes on many cultural touchpoints. The half-spheres framed in the center of each artwork simulate the rising of the sun or could be interpreted on the molecular level as a ruptured atom in the process of nuclear fission. The colours of each artwork were chosen to align with different chakras, or psychic energy centers within the body. The colours correspond thusly: violet = crown chakra (top of the head); blue = throat chakra; yellow = solar plexus chakra (chest); red = root chakra (base of the torso/ pelvic floor). These potent artworks carry references to science, meditation, and cultural shifts all through the medium of textiles.
